THE LEGEND OF ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS
By Drew Daywalt
Book and Lyrics by John Maclay
Music and Lyrics by Eric Nordin
Co-commissioned by Oregon Children’s Theater (Portland, OR) and First Stage (Milwaukee, WI)
Long ago there lived three fierce warriors. From the Kingdom of Backyard came Rock, from the Empire of Mom’s Home Office came Paper, and from a messy village in the Junk Drawer Realm came Scissors. They were the strongest, smartest, and fastest in all the land. Though they searched far and wide for worthy opponents, no one could beat them…until they met each other and a musical battle royale began to see who would come out on top!

JOHN HUGHES HIGH: THE 1980’S TEEN MUSICAL
Book and Lyrics by Mark LaPierre
Music by Eric Nordin and Mark LaPierre
It’s 1989 at John Hughes High where every student is fabulous and amazing EXCEPT Samantha. Ignored and literally invisible, Samantha has found the answer to her escapist prayers – spending her senior year at the French School of Ennui. Her depressingly impressive Mom won’t let Samantha go until she tries, “really tries,” to make friends with the Vision-Questing Jocks, Fame Dancers, Pop Divas, Real Genius Nerds, and Rebellious Idealists in her school’s breakfast club. What’s an anti-heroine to do but dance, sing and charm her way to the top of the high school heap?

THE SNOWSTORM
Written by Eric Nordin
Music by Sergei Rachmaninoff
This visceral, sonically vivid new performance piece brings the classical piano music of Rachmaninoff to life through cutting edge physical theatre spun around a classic romance with magical elements of puppetry and mask. The power of music to connect, to ignite, and to heal weaves through this original fable by some of Portland’s most inventive and cherished collaborating theatre-artists.
“a magical performance that blurs lines between music, dance, theater…a stunning and inspired performance piece” – Oregonlive

THE WIZARD OF PANTO-LAND
Book and Lyrics by Jim Giancarlo
Music and Lyrics by Eric Nordin
Oregon Cabaret Theatre’s hit musical is a wacky riff on the story of “The Wizard of Oz” presented in the style of British pantomime, or panto — musical comedy based on fairy of folk tales. Along with “Oz” — look for Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and Dorothy — OCT puts a Walt Disney spin on its production with a wizard and witches.
